About Childline Collaborative Organisation, Kakching
CHILDLINE Kakching started on 20th August 2020 as a Collaborative Organisation with Sub-center Budget under All Backward Classes and Economic Development Organisation (ABCEDO), Samaram, Thoubal. It is sponsored by the CHILDLINE India Foundation, Mumbai, under the Mission Vatsalya Scheme (Child Protection Services & Welfare Services), the newly changed name of Integrated Child Protection Scheme, ICPS, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
The office of CHILDLINE Kakching is located at Kakching Sumak Leikai, Leirak Achouba Pareng, Kakching, Manipur. It is 24- hour, toll free, emergency phone outreach service for children in need of care and protection, linking them to long-term services for their care and rehabilitation. Any child and concerned adult can call 1098 and access the CHILDLINE service any time of the day or night.
MISSION
CHILDLINE aims at responding to the needs of every child in need of care and protection throughout the country and ensure that there is an integrated effort between governmental, non-governmental organizations, academic communities, bilateral agencies, corporate sector and the community in protecting the rights of children.
TASKS OF CHILDLINE 1098
To reach out to every child in need of care and protection by responding to emergency call on 1098; and by physically reaching out to them.
To adopt and integrate telecommunication technology, linking throughout districts to the service of 1098, and making it available to all children in need of care and protection.
To provide a platform of networking amongst organisations and to provide linkages to support systems that facilitates rehabilitation of children in need of care and protection.
To work together with all allied System (Police, Health Care, JJB, CWC, Transport, Legal, Education, Communication, Media, Political and the Community) to create child friendly systems.
To advocate for services for children that are inaccessible, non-existent or inadequate.
To create a body of NGOs and Government organisations of working within the national framework and policy for children
